32 Asian entries make the Spikes Asia Awards’ Film shortlist + 23 finalists in Film Craft category

ayrton_senna_soundofhonda.jpg32 Asian entries have made the cut at the shortlist stage of the Spikes Asia Awards’ Film category, which sees 57 entries making the shortlist. In the Film Craft category Asia has scored 23 finalists out of a total 51.

Japan leads with 13 shortlists in the Film Category with Dentsu Tokyo and Dentsu Kansai picking up four each. Dentsu Tokyo scored three for Nissin Foods Cupnoodles ‘Globilization’, ‘Our First Blind Date’ and ‘The Facebook Monster’ and one for ‘Sound of Honda’. Dentsu Kansai picked up three nominations for Murata Kampo Chinese herbal Medicines ‘Batting Practice – Center Foul, Center Pitching and Center Jump’ and one for Akagi Nyugyo’s ‘Weird Commercial’.

Thailand has 7 nominations and China scores four, whilst India and Chinese Taipei each receive 3, with Singapore and The Philippines receiving one nomination each.

In Film Craft, Japan and Singapore have 6 nominations. For Japan, Dentsu scored 3 of their nominations for Nissin Foods ‘Globilization’, Kadokawa’s ‘Shadow Picture’ and Recruit Holdings’ ‘Life is not a Marathon’. Ogilvy & Mather Singapore were the forerunners with 3 nominations for Unilever’s ‘The Day I Visited my Son’.

India scored 5 nominations in the Film Craft Category, Malaysia and China with 2 and South Korea and Thailand with one.

All shortlisted work is currently being exhibited and screened at the Festival. Two more categories, Integrated and Creative Effectiveness, will be released tomorrow.
