CLEAN RIVER SOON 1.jpgTBWA/SMP Philippines is trying to clean up the heavily polluted Pasig River with help from Japanese natural cosmetics brand Shokubutsu Hana.

The agency created this floating billboard made out of Vetiver, a perennial, non-invasive grass, that soaks up the toxins.

The billboard is the first of its kind in the Philippines. Vetiver is often used to treat wastewater and stabilize landfills and garbage dumpsites. The plant can tolerate high levels of nitrates, phosphates and heavy metals, absorb toxic materials and help reduce pollution.
