Seven Sunday Films partners with BBDO Indonesia on new campaign for BCA Bank

Leading Indonesian production company Seven Sunday Films has partnered with BBDO Indonesia to create a visually arresting new campaign called “Up” for BCA Bank. The film showcases how easy it is for entrepreneurs to connect with BCA and create innovative business solutions.

The commercial, directed by Andrew Hardaway, depicts an entrepreneur walking through a city as buildings rise and descend according to the fortunes of the businesses within them. As he arrives at his own office he sees his business visibly sinking before his eyes, until with the timely aid of animated BCA Paper Men he’s able to reverse his fortunes and grow his business to previously unknown heights.

The film was made in collaboration with UPP, a visual effects house based in Prague, who created the complex visual effects of buildings rising and falling, as well as the animated BCA Paper Men themselves.  

Seven Sunday Films Executive Producer Rodney Louis Vincent said the film was the result of a great collaboration between all parties. “We were really pleased with the post work the guys at UPP did to seamlessly integrate the live action and post, and bring out the character of the animated BCA Paper Men. We were able to put a lot of detail into the film and really push the photorealism of the CG.”

Rajesh Menon, Executive Creative Director of BBDO said, “Making a film with a lot of CGI in it is always a bit like watching a murder mystery movie…Who’s going to be the villain? Is this story going to end happily, or will there be a lot of blood and gore…? With the BCA ‘Up’ job, from the time Seven Sunday, Andrew Hardaway, and UPP came on board, it was smooth sailing pretty much all the way…A happy ending? Any happier, and this could have been a Disney film…”
