Utterly soulless copy.
It’s a real bummer that you churn out these “manifesto” spots written only for advertising wankers.
People in real life don’t get inspiration from these executions.
It’s not fun. It’s heavy and confusing.
Ask yourself if this would be on your mind as you’re looking to buy a car. Answer is likely to be a big NO. So this is a waste of time and opportunity. Brave client as it is in huge doubt to be able to help drive sales with this.
Such nonsense are seen everywhere in China in the native language. Check out the equally bad Bruce Lee spot from BBH China, big anthemic manifesto that are vague and empty. Just because this is in English this time, doesn’t hide its pretentiousness.
Come on. Nothing too bad about the non voice over film.
Agreed it’s not going to win awards but it’s nicely done
I’m surprised this came out of W+K in China for the American market. Has the feel of a big US agency.
Terrence Malik should sue.
I know all advertising lifts its references from elsewhere, but this isn’t even trying to hide it by taking a new angle. The VO spot in particular. Not much can make Malick’s narrations look full of substance, but this one does.
W&K doesn’t get much love around these parts.
Who directed this? Any credits?
