At Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific since October 2011, Kuegler has been leading the regional business for Coca-Cola and Diageo, where she was responsible for driving both brands across Asia.

Says David Mayo, CEO, Bates CHI&Partners: “Lou is a first class operator with a keen eye for the product. Our clients demand the best creative but it’s the ‘Impresario’ at the centre that brings the right people around the table. Lou knows how to get the best out of a team and we are delighted to have her onboard at Bates CHI&Partners.”

Kuegler will join Mayo, chief strategy officer Mark Sinnock and chief operating officer Tony Dowling in their mission to build Asia’s newest creative network. She will also work closely with the managing directors of the 14 local Bates CHI offices, as well as the CHI teams from London and New York to help knit the global network together behind several global clients.

Says Kuegler: “The opportunity to join Bates CHI&Partners at the start of their journey as a new global agency is an exciting prospect. David and I have had a great partnership over the last 18 months, so I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with him, our clients and our teams across the region to develop brilliant creative work. There’s new energy and momentum at the agency, and huge creative aspirations.”

Kuegler starts at Bates CHI effective immediately and will report directly to Mayo.

Before moving to Asia, Kuegler spent six years Colenso BBDO. She was part of the agency management team at the time when Colenso BBDO was awarded Advertising Age International Agency of the Year Runner-up 2010 and Campaign Brief Agency of the Decade 2010. While at Colenso BBDO she led some of the agency’s largest, fully integrated accounts including Westpac Bank, Television New Zealand, Fonterra and Mars. She was the account service lead on campaigns that won numerous Cannes Lions, including one of only six inaugural Cannes 2011 Effectiveness Lions.

Prior to this Kuegler worked at Publicis Mojo NZ, following ten years working client side in a variety of marketing roles for companies such as Nestlé and Schwarzkopf & Henkel. She relocated from New Zealand to Singapore in October 2011.
