Hyper Island.jpgHyper Island, the world’s leading learning institute within leadership, innovation and digital media, opens its doors in Singapore today. The new campus marks an innovative approach to digital creativity in Singapore, aimed at the thriving creative culture here and throughout Southeast Asia.

The Hyper Island methodology stems from the company’s Swedish origins and revolves around learning by doing, industry collaboration, creativity and real-word problem solving within an environment that encourages ground-breaking ideas. Learning at Hyper Island is based on industry requirements with students working with real clients with real needs, nurturing creativity, innovation and leadership. All Hyper Island programmes are designed in collaboration with leading agencies, brands, corporations and industry experts. Hyper Island eschews traditional rigid curriculum, making their programs agile and flexible to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the communications industry. Hyper Island’s methodology has proven to be a success with graduates highly sought after by the industry – 98 percent of students secure employment before or shortly after graduation.

Hyper Island’s new campus in Singapore is 4,800 square feet of creative space, designed to inspire and enhance the learning experience. Located at 991B Alexandra Road, the campus boasts soundproof classrooms and plenty of studio space for participants to collaborate and explore.

“Singapore is home to an incredibly vibrant community of creative thinkers and is already a strong digital media hub,” said Christina Andersson, Managing Director, Hyper Island located in Singapore. “Hyper Island sees Asia as a burgeoning centre for the creative minds and we aim to position this community to step to the forefront of the ever-changing creative landscape by providing the tools and experience needed to grow and rise to the challenges of tomorrow’s transformative technology. Hyper Island challenges our students to embrace change and the fluid nature of creativity, and to be ready for whatever is next. We are keen to work with top global and local firms in Singapore, having worked with some of the world’s leading brands and agencies, and many of the top creative agencies worldwide.”

“In Asia, consumers are increasingly adopting digital lifestyles and are becoming more sophisticated in the way they interact with brands.  Marketers and communications professionals must continually deepen their understanding of the Asian consumer and develop the necessary capabilities to engage their customers in persuasive conversations within the pan-Asian context. Hyper Island’s close industry linkages, together with its inaugural Asian campus in Singapore will equip our design, marketing and communications talent with the necessary skill sets to make them globally competitive yet keenly relevant to Asia,” added Kelvin Wong, Executive Director, Professional Services, Singapore Economic Development Board.

Hyper Island located in Singapore will kick off with its one-year Specialist Diploma Interactive Art Director programme beginning March 4, 2013. Communicators, marketers and creatives will engage in a deeply collaborative environment that mirrors the modern workplace. 25 exclusive seats will be available for students who will learn to sharpen their design skills and solve real world problems. Created in partnership with industry professionals, the programme covers the entire production spectrum, from strategy and branding to execution.

This will be followed by additional short term and executive programmes that Hyper Island in Singapore will launch to align with and meet industry needs. These programmes will be fast-paced series of presentations and collaborative workshops led by Hyper Island facilitators and a mix of leading industry talent to inspire participants to create functional change within their organisations.
