The judging process for the London International Awards starts tomorrow: Judges start to arrive at the Encore hotel in Las Vegas for judging

LIA_Day One1.jpgThe judging of the London International Awards begins tomorrow at the 5 star Encore hotel in Las Vegas. Over the next week Campaign Brief will report from Las Vegas on the the progress of the 9 juries that will sit and deliberate over the next week.

Tonight the early arrivals into Las Vegas were treated to a special welcome dinner at one of Encore’s finest restaurants, Botero.

This year the jury heads are Amir Kassaei (DDB Worldwide) president of the Integrated categories; Steve Back (O&M Singapore) Non-Traditional, Print, Poster, Billboard; Mark Tutssel (Leo Burnett Worldwide) TV/Cinema/Online Film; Dominic Goldman (BBH London) Digital; Colleen DeCourcy (Socialistic) The NEW jury; Andy Bloch (Human) TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music; Ralph van Dijk (Eardrum) Radio; Deborah Adler (Deborah Adler Design) Design; and Anna Fawcett (Filmgraphics) TV/Cinema/Online Film – Production | Post-Production.

LIA is also for the first time launching its ‘Creative Conversations’ program targeted to Young Creatives from around the globe. The event will take place at the Encore/Wynn Resort in Las Vegas during the week of the LIA judging sessions. As a way to give back to the very industry that has made LIA a trailblazer across the awards landscape, LIA has decided to bring Young Creatives together with seasoned Creatives to encourage stimulating and rewarding dialogue. The entire initiative, including travel and hotel expenses, is being funded by LIA.

LIA_Day One4.jpgThe goal of ‘Creative Conversations’ is to provide the next generation of bright minds unprecedented access to a unique and diverse group of industry luminaries for one-on-one conversations, as well as, several seminars.

Only seventy attendees from around the globe will be participating in this intimate, invitation-only event. LIA has communicated word of the event to various global agency networks, independent agencies, associations and media outlets. The managers of these companies and associations chose individuals for the exclusive opportunity to experience LIA’s educational initiative. The speakers of the ‘Creative Conversations’ include Ted Royer, Susan Credle, Israel Diaz, Tony Calcao, Faris Yakob, Paul Lavoie, Neil French, Mark D’Arcy, Phil Growick, Bob Garfield, Doerte Spengler-Aherns, Sonal Dabral, Jeremy Craigen, Jonathon Ker and Scott Elias, as well as few surprise speakers.
