Carol Lam.jpgCarol Lam has returned to McCann Worldgroup as Chief Creative Officer/ Managing Director of McCann Erickson Shanghai. The dual-role position is a new addition to the agency’s leadership team. Until recently Lam had been with TBWA Shanghai.

“Our vision in China has always been simple and clear – to create the best and only the best work to help our clients build brand and sales” says TH Peng, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Greater China. “And ‘best talents’ has always been one of our most critical success factors – they create the best work and they attract high caliber talents. Six months into 2010 we have already seen a lot of great work from the Shanghai team – new business wins like Abbott and the launch of a series of L’Oreal and Maybelline integrated campaigns, to mention a few.”

“To go to the next level in a changing world market will require the leadership of someone who comes with a proven record in global creativity – and there is no better person than Carol to fill this role.  Needless to say, she is one of the most highly acclaimed creative talents and we were always impressed with her uncompromised drive to leading her team to “make great greater” when she was ECD of the Cathay Pacific Central Team.  The Shanghai management team is very excited to see Carol take on this newly added position at the agency”.

Under Lam’s creative leadership, McCann Hong Kong landed over 150 creative and marketing effectiveness awards from 2004-2007, including the Hong Kong 4A’s Kam Fan (Best of Show) in 2006, two Gold EFFIE (2005 & 2006), two LongXi Grand Prix Awards (2005 & 2006) and a number of medals from Media Spikes, Asia Pacific Advertising Festivals, Mobius, London International Awards, Clio and New York Festivals.

A multi-award winner herself, Lam was invited as honorable speaker at the Cannes Advertising Festival in 2009 and she also frequents the jury panel for many prestigious international and local creative award shows including the One Show (2009), the ANDYs (2009), LongXi (2006 & President of Jury 2009), China 4As (2008), Asia Pacific AdFest (2006)  and  Asian Media Spike (2005) . Her appointment is with immediate effect.
