BBDO Worldwide wins Network of the Year, Abbott Mead Vickers wins Grand Prix for Good

For the fourth year in a row,BBDO Worldwide has picked up Network of the Year at the 57th InternationalAdvertising Festival in Cannes, which wrapped last night. BBDO was followed byDDB and Y&R. 

Agency of the Year was awarded to ALMAP/BBDO Sao Paulo, Brazil while Independent Agency of the Year went to Jung Von Matt, Hamburg, Germany. Direct Agency of the Year was Abbott Mead Vickers, London. Interactive Agency of the Year was Crispin Porter + Bogusky. 

Leo Burnett Sydney was the only Australian agency to pick up an agency of the year award winning Media Agency of the Year after scoring the Grand Prix for Canon’s ‘EOS Photochains’.

The Grand Prix for Good went toAbbott Mead Vickers BBDO London for The Metropolitan Police’s Anti-KnifeCampaign, ‘Choose a different ending’. A YouTube film campaign used Annotation Technologyto enable viewers to choose what happened next. Carry a knife? Go to a party?Stab an opponent? After experiencing the consequences of their choices, viewerscould ‘Choose a Different Ending’. There were 21 films with ten differentendings. Seeded online, the campaign appeared unbranded, employing socialmedia, search, in-game posters and blogs.

The Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Good was introduced this year to reward entries ineligible to win a Grand Prix in their sections because they are made for charities and public services. Each of the Gold winners in these categories across all entry sections will be judged by the Titanium and Integrated Jury.

The Palme D’Or went to MJZ USA.
