Kazoo Sato joins TBWA Hakuhodo

Kazoo_color_a.jpgKazoo Sato has joined TBWA Hakuhodo as Senior Creative Director. Kazoo was most recently at Beacon Communications, a joint venture agency between Dentsu and Leo Burnet, where he worked since 1999. Kazoo has produced award-winning work for a variety of domestic and international clients including P&G, McDonald’s and Coca Cola. Prior to that, Kazoo worked at Sony Music Entertainment, and continues to leverage his music passion, knowledge and connections in his creative thinking. In addition to his advertising work, Kazoo’s creativity can be seen in his CD jacket designs and production of music videos and live concerts.

“For me, it’s important to be creative in more ways than just simplymaking ads. I wanted to find a place that embraces and encouragescreative ideas that are bigger than a tv spot or a print ad. TBWAHakuhodo is that kind of agency,” said Kazoo. “I’m hoping to do greatthings with our current clients while inspiring the whole industry.”

In addition to his Gold Lion from Cannes, Kazoo has picked up awardsfrom the One Show, D&AD, AdFest, as well as an MTV Music VideoAward.

 

“There are only a handful of rock stars in the advertising world inJapan and Kazoo is one of them,” said John Merrifield, TBWAAsia-Pacific’s Creative-at-large. “He’s got the look, he’s got themetal, he’s got the chops. I have a sneaky suspicion he’s going torocket us back to where we need to be.”

 

Kazoo’s main focus will be the adidas account and finding opportunitiesto push the creative level. He will also be involved in new businessdevelopment.
