BBDO/Proximity Malaysia add a New York Grand Award to their long list of winners

Jeep_Husky_Camel.jpgBBDO/Proximity Malaysia was awarded the prestigious Grand Trophy 2009 New York Festivals Advertising Awards. The Kuala Lumpur based agency received the Grand Trophy in the Print category for their acclaimed campaign for Jeep’s “Two Worlds.”  

BBDO/Proximity’s  Grand Trophy  winning  print campaign features three advertisements that illustrate that Jeep can go from the mountains to the deserts and in between; “The Mountain Goat and Crocodile”, “Bushman and the Eskimo (Inuit)”, and “The Husky and the Camel”.  Each ad features graphic image of two characters that overlap to create a Jeep at the intersection point, illustrating the adaptability of Jeep.

NYF Grand Trophies were also awarded to the following agencies:CumminsNitro, Australia “Best Job in the World” for Tourism Queenslandin the Digital + Interactive category; BBDO NY USA “HBO Audio MuralInstallations” for client HBO/Big Love in the Mixed Media category; BigAnt International, “What Goes Around Comes Around” for client GlobalCoalition for Peace in the Outdoor category;  Crispin Porter + Bogusky,USA “Whopper Sacrifice” for client Burger King, in the Avant-Gardecategory; and Publicis, France “Rewind City” for client Orange TV, inthe TV/Cinema category.

The Grand Trophy Award recipients were selected from the top scoringGold medalists in all categories by the NYF International Grand Jury™. The 2009 Grand Jury™ was comprised of 255 Senior Creative Directorsfrom 56 countries, representing the largest and most diverse jury ofany advertising competition in the world.

The 2009 NYF Advertising competition received entries from 71 countriesin the following eleven competitions:  Art & Technique,Avant-Garde, Collateral, Design, Digital + Interactive, Mixed Media,Outdoor, Print, TV/Cinema, Radio and Student.

To commemorate this year’s winners, the 2009 New York Festivals (NYF)Advertising Awards will host a series of award ceremonies and speakerseries around the world. Awards presentations, along with a THINKBIG™Speaker Series about Digital, Interactive, Avant-garde and SocialMedia, will be held in seven cities around the world, premiering inChicago on Tuesday, July 21 at the Chicago Cultural Center, andfollowed by additional shows in Shanghai, Manila, Mumbai, Santiago deChile, Madrid, and New York.
